Team Work – The Main & The Side Squeeze

The #UGbloggers7Days is quite a challenge. But some people do live for a challenge and I would love to think of myself as one of these people. I missed writing. I missed the feedback from the specialย  breed that take time off their busy schedules to read my musings and leave a comment. You’re the best! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

The most interesting feedback however, is the one that is not posted here. Those that have my number usually call while chuckling to respond to the post. Others send email, send text messages… And others will give me a piece of their mind regarding a blog I posted a year ago while we’re in a lunch buffet queue at one of the restaurants near our office! ๐Ÿ™‚

Following the piece I did early this year on side chicks with main chick mentalities… Please read it here.

I bumped into a friend I hadn’t seen in a while last evening, as luck would have it – we ended up in a “kafunda” that serves chai. After the pleasantries of happy New Year and oh my God, long time no see, he got to the point. His view on the article – The problem is that you girls look at the whole thing as a competition yet you should work as colleagues with a clear goal – to please your employer. Well, the man you’re sharing in this case. This involves team work.

As a team, you (the main and the side squeeze) need to understand the goal and stay committed to attaining it.

Communication is open, honest and respectful. The man, the main and the side should feel free to express their thoughts, opinions and potential solutions to their problems. Obviously, this shouldn’t be under the same roof.

Like in any team work, team members should feel a strong sense of belonging. Unlike the other team work, one (especially the side squeeze) is free to walk away; no one is forcing you to stay. Get out if you’re not happy.

Of course every team member is unique with irreplaceable experiences, points of view and opinions to contribute. That’s why the side squeeze is in the picture. She is his vacation, his time off, his break from his problems with the main.

Some team members can’t stand each other, but they always find a way to work together.

That said, remember to treat each other as colleagues and love one another…

  1. I am not that kind of man. I look at these things like you would a car. Some cars have space for more than one passenger, some have space for only two. I am the kind that believe is one other passenger.

But really how do you share such things?

      1. The team work in The Other Woman is just unbelievable. My jaw was on the floor throughout the movie!
I don’t believe in this kind of team work though. Must we share everything?

        1. Hehehe that movie was just unbelievable.

About this kind of team work… I don’t think there’re many women out there who could believe in it.

But the Main and Side Squeeze business is real. We can’t pretend it doesn’t exist…

  2. I have been told by a Senga that actually having a main and side dish isnt the best way forward.. this creates competition..rather any man who desires more than one should aim for 3..the third one acts as a sort of neutraliser.. so the team needs depth.. 3 minimum the recommended dose..
